Arianna let a light airy laugh escape her lips at his talk of telling Suzanna off, she was ready to admit that she would find no greater delight that telling her off as he had just done but she knew it would only amplify the horror of her situation ten fold. As it was she was sure to take the brunt of Suzanna's embarrassment when she returned to the kitchen. But she pushed this thought from her mind, deciding she would not worry for now she would bask in the glory of victory and deal with the consequences later. Her mood was too happy to let go of, and a certain drunkenness over took her. The sky is so blue today! Spring is coming!” She must have been drunk on the good vibrations that Gethin released because she felt airy and light. She felt like grabbing Gethin's hands and twirling him across the grass. But that was just what he needed, as it was Arianna was sure vicious rumours would be spread about him. “Why are you doing this? People will talk…” She felt she needed to say this little comment, as if saying it released him, her own way of saying he could go and leave her, that she wasn’t worth it, so Arianna restrained herself and kept her hands...and thoughts to herself. That was all she needed, if he could read her mind she was sure he would rolling around on the grass laughing by now at the absurd idea of him riding up on a horse and rescuing her. In fact Arianna wasn’t even sure if he could ride! Arianna blushed secretly and let a small smile slip across her face.
Without even noticing she found herself at the entrance of the castle, and she hesitated knowing it was not customary for serving girls that worked primarily in the kitchens to the enter through the main doors. The smile that had previously graced her features now slipped into a more sombre expression. She stood in the shadow of the door, unsure of what to do. The shadow felt like a physical weight on her shoulders, and all airy feelings she had been feeling previously disappeared, squashed by the oppressive nature of the castle. But then Gethin strode confidently through and Arianna had no choice but to follow. A Lord sneered at her and she cast her gaze downwards and hurried to catch up with Gethin wishing more than ever she had just a little more confidence, more than likely it was her meek demeanour and timid nature that provided her as a target for the Lords and Ladies scorn. She bit her lip and raced up to Gethin, drawing level with him she merely nodded when he mentioned the cheese and bread. Her mind automatically kicked in and she swerved into a hallway that branched off to the right, narrowly avoiding running into a low table that was hidden into the shadows, but not avoiding hitting the light that was screwed firmly onto the wall, the torch in it burning brightly.
The copper fitting connected with Arianna’s skull with a dull thud and her breath escaped her in a whoosh. Her hand instinctively flew to her head where it had hit the fixture. She bought her fingers back down and was relieved to see them devoid of blood, so it hadn’t broke the skin, she would just be left would a rather nasty bruise. She sighed and continued on, not giving Gethin time to even think about fussing over her, these small impacts with inanimate objects was just a part of Arianna’s daily life. “I’m fine” She said with a slight mumble. She reached the kitchen and held the door open for Gethin, she risked a small smile to let him know that she really was fine. And after that her mind began to wander wondering where on Earth she was going to actually find something for him to eat, dinner was yet to be cooked and most of their supplies were getting low. She pursed her lips and realized she would just have to scrap something together, it might mean sacrificing her own meal for the night, but she wanted to see that charming smile of his again. In fact she NEEDED to see it again. [/blockquote]

Gethin shrugged at her comment on people talking, It wouldn't matter if you were the greatest princess, the most average peasant of the lowest of the squallers. People would still talk. It doesn't matter what your rank is or your appearance, if people want to gossip they'll gossip about nothing at all just to feed their addiction. He sighed a little hanging his head as he shook it, Let them talk. He muttered raising his head again, hardly noticing the company that passed. A look a determination glinted in his beautiful eyes. Let them talk, he repeated to himself silently, See if I care what they think. I won't be bullied into submission by they vicious tongues. And I'll prove it. Just how he would prove it was uncertain.
Another few minutes of thinking spawned an idea. One which he would regret later, far later. It was something so vial to do to another human being that Gethin would later wonder just how much of his father was in his blood. Still we all have those moments when we remember back to some act in the past thing that we did and think Oh shit, I can't believe I did that. Gethin might have been a vampire and a were-fox but this didn't make him perfect or adverse to problems. If anything they seem to be attracted to him.
Before they reached the kitchens and just after Arianna hurt herself but continued doggedly before he could respond, in a way that wouldn't scare her by his speed, he turned his charm on. Another dazzling smile flashed across his beautiful features, You know... He started in his most expertly casual voice. The springs are really lovely this time of year. With the winter's chill leaving spring to blush into life. So he hadn't exactly played the charm for a while, he was still quite good at it, maybe not as much as his father, but you know what they say, a chip off the old block and all. It seems a pity to waste it indoors. One should explore what nature has to offer. Now he looked at her, his face still equally charming, and slightly devious.
If only someone had been around to slap him right then and there. He doubted Arianna had the confidence to tell him off for this flirtatious gesture. No doubt she would peace together just what he was suggesting. Most maids would giggle and flush a delicate pink and bustle away with a rustle of soft cotton, Arianna however was different. Gethin could already tell that she wouldn't want to offend him, though offended wouldn't exactly be what he would feel if she refused him, maybe relief was a more appropriate word. No Gethin was a good judge of character, and extended life tended to have that affect on people. He was prepared to bet his fortune and title on the fact that she would not refuse him.

As she walked Arianna began to feel that all to familiar feeling slip over her, it was the routine of it all, although walking and talking with a lord was not exactly an ever day occurrence. These halls were ingrained in her brain, although she was extraordinarily clumsy, Arianna was sure she could probably walk these halls blindfolded and still find her way around. And so when Gethin turned to her, flashing that dazzling smile of his, Arianna felt jolted, like a surge of electricity had just zapped through her and she thought she might collapse there and then, the radiance and brilliance of his smile had such a strong effect on her, and again she felt her mouth pull up wards in the corners, something in his smile was contagious, and she had defiantly caught the disease. For a moment she stood there, simply stunned by his request, not entirely sure of how to reply to it.
It wasn't until she led her mind through the sentence once more, that she fully understood what he was implying and when this happened her cheeks instantly flared beetroot, her face felt like she was standing far to close to the furnace. She blinked in surprise and tried to compose herself, but found herself only blushing further as he continued talking. "Well, I...I don't know if I could get away, a trip that long would take a whole day." She didn't mention the fact that it was normally frowned upon for servants to enter the sacred waters, or the fact that she was frightfully self conscious of herself when he was around and she had no intention of bathing when he was within a 10 mile radius. So instead of mentioning all these things she concentrated intently on a loose thread that hung limply from her shirt.
Only once her cheeks felt more normal, and less like they were on fire, did she dare to look up and met his gaze. Arianna swore to herself that she would never get used to that intense gaze, the purity of his eyes and the deep emotions that they held. It seemed so unnatural for something so beautiful to be present in a world that was a lot of the times, so ugly. Frowning Arianna stopped in her tracks. "M'lord I do not think it would be such a good idea...I...I would like to, but..." At the end of the sentence her voice petered out, her heart simply wouldn't let her refuse, because underneath the polite courtesies she realized was a furious desire to be around him, to watch him and talk to him. He was interesting and treated her like a human being not like a piece of trash, and this delighted her and frightened her at the same time. So again she pushed away that voice of reason and did the unthinkable. "But I'm sure, I could arrange something, and you are right the weather is getting warmer and warmer with each coming day, it would be a shame to waste the sunlight."
Arianna felt shocked at herself, only a few hours ago she was more concerned with not falling over and losing her load of onions, which she realized with a shock that after all that she had still managed to keep them firmly in her apron, and now she was talking about venturing up to the springs for a day trip with a Lord...even to herself it sounded absolutely ludicrous and she was sure any second she was going to feel the familiar cold wet awakening that was her usual day. She would simply wake up to find this was all some fantastical fantasy that her imagination had conjured up. But after a few seconds and she was still planted firmly on the ground next to him, she could only assume that it was not in dream, but in fact reality...
And then yet another shock hit her, again she couldn't be sure if it was her imagination but she was sure, Gethin had been changed in some way, more charming perhaps? They way he stood close to her, and smiled, catching her gaze? Arianna narrowed her eyes slightly as she thought, surely a lord such as his self could not be flirting with a serving girl? Of course Arianna being a tad naive, assumed that this was her ultimate dream come true, that in fact Gethin had come upon her and fallen in love, and maybe going to the Springs was part of his plan, he would drag her up the mountain and they would simply disappear forever...together. Arianna sighed inwardly at this pleasant though, never for a second considering that Gethin has some awful ulterior motive. "When were you planning on this trip to the springs m'lord?" [/blockquote]
