Centaurs
Immortal
Whether they are part of the original or the evolved centaurs are part human part horse. They have a man's torso, shoulders, arms, neck and head. Attached to this is the body of a horse, comprising of all four legs, chest, barrel and tail.
The Original Race-
There are many theories as to how the original race came to be. One such is that the goddess of the horse, Bethiar and the god of war, Cailean, fell in love. They had a child, a baby boy, Centaur, who was part man part horse. He grew to be a formidable warrior like his father, but he was cast out from the heavens for fall in love with the daughter of Cailean, and his half sister, Alannah. Centaur, troubled and confused passed on his unique form through his many lovers that he acquired throughout his life time. Birthing the race of Centaurs. Cailean disapproved of this interference with Janzis and killed Centaur, and cast his body into the sea. Centaurs vary dramatically in appearance and personality. They do have one thing in common, they are extremely adept fighters. The trait per haps passed on from Cailean back in the ancient times. They are brilliant with bows and arrows but just as gifted with swords, spears and just about any other weapon you could poke a stick at. They have good stamina and are stronger than the average horse. For these reasons they are favored as mercenaries, often trained as knights and then selling their skills to the highest bidder. Another thing that seems to circulate around the original centaurs is that they're stunningly beautiful, and move with a seemingly boneless grace.
The Evolved-
The evolved centaurs a further generations from their divine inheritance. They have occurred through breeding of the first few generations of centaurs with humans, and horses. These carry more traits of one or the other rather than an even balance between the horse and the human of the form. Some evolved centaurs have a line of mane that runs down their spine on the human part from the crown of their head. While others, seem to have thinner coats on their equine body and shorter tails. This varies from centaur to centaur depending on the percentage of the breeding in their pedigree. They are rougher looking in appearance. While still brilliantly muscled and extremely well training in fighting, their skin is sometimes rough to the touch and look. They can have flaws on their faces just like humans, such as eyes to close together, nose too big. They seem to have lost any sign of godly blood, what little is left in their veins flickered in strength. Sometimes an evolved centaur can have a child that looks much like an original centaur, because of something in the genetics.
